Carrot “Bacon”

Ingredients

  • A large carrot as thick as possible to have nice slices
  • 1 tbsp of sesame tahini puree
  • 1 tbsp of maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp of vegetable oil here rapeseed
  • 1 ½ tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

Instructions

  • Peel a large carrot, then using a mandolin or a sharp knife, slice the carrot lengthwise (about 2mm, they must not be too thin otherwise they risk burning in the oven. cooking). Place the carrots in a large, high-sided dish.
  • In a bowl, mix all the ingredients for the marinade, then pour over the carrots. Coat each carrot slice well with the marinade. Leave to rest for 30 min.
  • Preheat the oven to 200 ° C.
  • Prepare a baking sheet covered with baking paper and place the carrot slices next to each other (spread a little marinade on top).
  • Bake and cook for 15 to 20 minutes depending on the desired consistency (more or less crispy).
  • Take out of the oven and place on a cooling rack, the carrot slices will harden a little more when cooling.
